FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WE WOULD LIKE SOME FAMILY GROUP PHOTOS ON THE DAY, IS THIS SOMETHING YOU DO ?
Absolutely.....but I make them fun! There is no standing in line for ages, getting bored and forcing a smile. I try to work as quickly and methodical as I can, with a slight addition of fun thrown in to get the photos you want.
I do advise to have around 8 main group photos maximum on your list. This is purely for the time it takes to round people up, and organise everyone. You don't want to spend too long away from all your guests on your big day.
If there's any other group shots you want with friends and family during the day, just grab me!
WHAT CAMERA EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I shoot with two Sony a7iii cameras, one with a 35mm lens and one with a 85mm lens for most of the day. I also have another spare camera body and various focal length lenses if needed. Both of these cameras have dual memory cards, so I'm backing up the photos as I work (for extra security)
DO YOU NEED TO VISIT OUR VENUE BEFORE THE WEDDING?
No this generally isn't required. I will research the venue before the wedding, and then also arrive early on the day to scout out photo locations. The lighting for photos at any venue will be different in May as it would be in December for example.
DO WE HAVE TO FEED YOU?
Yes please! Shooting a wedding is generally non-stop for 10-12 hours, so a meal to refuel is needed. I generally sit down and eat while you and your guests are eating in a separate room.
HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?
Upon signing of the contract, a £250 deposit is payable. This then secures the date for you. The remaining balance is then due four weeks before the wedding date.
I HATE POSING FOR PHOTOS, WILL IT BE AWKWARD?
I know what you mean, I hate posing for pictures too! Thats why for 95% of your day, everything will be captured with the REAL you and you ENJOYING your day. There will be the formal group shots if you wish, but I make them FUN!
All I ask of you is around 15-20 minutes in the day for some relaxed, fun and natural photos of you both. These are fun, easy and chilled....no awkward posing here!
ARE YOU INSURED?
YES! I am fully insured and have professional indemnity and public liability insurance. I am also DBS checked.
HOW LONG WILL YOU STAY AT OUR WEDDING?
Im with you for the duration! So I normally like to arrive around 2 1/2 hours before the ceremony. Depending on the venue, this gives me a chance to take a look around and get familiar with it. I'd then join you and the bridal party for some 'getting ready shots' and if the groomsmen are getting ready nearby, I'll go and grab a few of them looking sharp.
I'm then there for the day documenting your big day all way through into the evening.
I normally stay until just after the first dance, but if the dance floor is really getting going, I like to get some dance floor action shots!
HOW LONG UNTIL WE GET OUR PHOTOS BACK?
Believe me, I want you to have them as soon as possible BUT editing and making sure your photos look perfect takes time, and I don't like to rush it. For weddings, you can expect your amazing gallery 4 - 6 weeks after your wedding date. (may be slightly longer during exceptionally busy periods.)
Within 48 hours of your wedding, landing in your inbox will be a link to your sneak peek photo gallery. This will be a small collection of roughly 10 edited images for you to show the world that you're married!
4 - 6 weeks after your wedding, your final gallery will be delivered in all its glory for you to relive that amazing day all over again.
HOW MANY EDITED PHOTOS CAN WE EXPECT?
You can expect roughly around 500+ photos for a full days wedding coverage. This isn't a guaranteed number, it may be slightly less or considerably more. It all depends on what is happening at the wedding and what great photos I can capture.
CAN I HAVE MORE THAN ONE PHOTOGRAPHER?
You certainly can! I work with a select few other photographers that assist me on weddings if needed. They understand my style and how I shoot, and in turn you'll get the same high quality service on the day.
DO YOU CHARGE FOR TRAVEL?
Travel is included for all weddings within 2 hours from Bath. Anything over this may incur a small travel charge or accommodation charge depending on location of wedding.
